Close Encounter was inspired by
a challenge from the American
Quilter's Society to create an
original and innovative design
based on the traditional pattern,
"Rose of Sharon." I did not finish
the piece by the challenge's
deadline, but was taken with the
design, so completed it nonethe-
less.
It was been juried into 2007's
AQS show and competition in
Paducah, KY.
